This 6″ x 1345′ Wax ribbon comes on a 1″ core with 12 rolls per box. Thermal ribbons are a critical component in thermal transfer printing. In this print method, a hot print head creates the printed image by melting the ribbon material onto the paper stock. The resulting print stabilizes quickly and is durable enough for most non-archival barcode and shipping needs.

This particular thermal is Coated Side In (CSI). This means that the ribbon has been wound in around the ribbon core so the ink is facing inward. When using CSI thermal ribbon, you will want to unroll it from the top and feed it over the print head. Printer brands compatible with CSI ribbon include SATO and Datamax.

Additionally, this ribbon type is wax. Because of its low durability, wax ribbons are an optimal choice for short-term or indoor use, and are typically printed on coated and uncoated paper stock.
